Temple of…

what’s the word I’m looking for… opposite of doom—euphoria???

So, I was in a good mood today and decided to go for my walk… left the front gate by 7:18 and was maintaining a steady pace this time. Pretty fast, faster than I usually walk, hell—you could say I was “speed walking” I guess. Hm, so that’s what it feels like… never thought I’d actually be doing that one day.

And then decided to take my usual route to the nature reserve, seeing some of the beautiful bungalows that I like, and I reached the RockyS showroom and… huh, what’s this, but there’s a huge poster on the building with the words BLUE LABEL written on it. And the only Blue Label that I’m aware of is the beverage that’s available over here, so I was pretty crushed… Rich Bastards, couldn’t spend some money on buying Rocky’s beautiful clothes, and then as I was moving ahead it just dawned on me: that must be the name of his Summer collection, lol, whew!

I then passed all the usual suspects, and as I was nearing the building that I thought was a mall before, it’s actually a hotel, it seemed to be pretty complete. Okay, it actually did look complete, and open for business, but I thought it’d be stupid of me to be asking the same question again—about if it had opened yet.

So I moved on, still maintaining my stride, and as I was passing the temple a couple of meters ahead of it, that I always do (it’s a nice little temple, bells ringing and people walking in and out of it whenever I pass, right next to the Hyatt—India, you’ve got to love it) and I almost forgot to mention this the last time I’d posted about it a couple of weeks ago… but, like everywhere else, you can’t just move a religious structure just because it’s coming in the way of whatever you’re trying to construct, and I mean even things like bridges in the centre of the road ((we’re a little squeezed for space over here, at least in the cities, and especially in the bigger ones)).

I then saw a guy passing the temple on his bike, and this is what a devout Hindu anywhere would do, but he raised his hand to his forehead, and then brought it towards his lips, and kissed it. And he was going pretty fast, and the temple was like covering half of the road, but religion comes first here, so who cares… there were other people going by too, some looking quizzically at it, others not even bothering to look, but I can’t help giving it a glance whenever I pass. Don’t know, but maybe next time I’ll stop and ask one of the devotees what the name of the temple is, and which god do they pray to.

After the brief mental interlude, I reached the park and took out my cell to see what the time was… 7:41… that’s, what—23 minutes for a kilometer. Pretty good. So I sat on the bench there by the front gate for a few minutes, then got up and decided to walk back. The journey in the other direction, towards home would take on a decline in the roads because of the hill where I am.

So I’d be completing the return in a couple of minutes quicker. But as I’m passing the Park Hyatt Hyderabad, they have a plaque on it next to the front gate, I decided to cross the road (which I’ve never done since the accident, because that would mean that I’d now have to walk home in the other direction, with my back to the flow of traffic—and what if someone comes up behind me and knocks me out again, how much more will my parents be able to bare—money wise at least, the life I don’t so much care about, heh.

The security guards there were as gracious as always, and I asked them if it had opened yet, and you know when it had… (((yesterday))).
